Voting
Is there any way to vote for an option that is not listed, you know "write in" voting, or is this a limitation of the technology?
authentication vote choices may not include any that would work
how to verify name, address, etc. ?? I think a scan copy of the driver license and voter registration card would work. We may want a committee to verify submitted identification. People with unlisted phone numbers, etc., will pose a verification problem.
authentication
there should be a way in voting to vote for more than one choice.
once i vote, how can i then change my vote?
Cancelling your Vote
After you have voted there is a button below the poll window - cancel my vote. That will do it and allow you to revote. Right now the software is set to one person one vote - and if I understand you want it to be one vote per choice. Is that right?
I think what he wants is to
I think what he wants is to be able to choose more than one option as acceptable. At least that is what it looks like to me. Since we only have four options and no write in it seems to be a legitimate request, you know, wheigh the options by rank maybe?
I know that voting is democratic, but is it democratic to have the vote moderator decide on the 4 options without a vote? A vote moderator can easily direct people towards a desireable choice simply by wording, such as the wording on the new poll "let Bush Decide" is this really the only availble 4th option? I mean we can choose between voting on this poll, the NLC or just let Bush decide? Both of the first two options are extremely limited and biased, the 4th option is simply ludicrous.
What about voting via snail mail as an option, or voting as a chapter at a convention (electorate votes) or voting via phone conference, this woul eliminate the ability of someone to vote twice. There are so many options available, but the vote administrator has already decided the only "practical" options from hios view point, and combined with no write in capability this process is already flawed beyond repair. The vote is SO invalid it is pathetic.
opinion polls and actual voting
It is very true that the choice of choices is central to all polling analyses. While it is potentially useful for individual members to initiate a poll on any subject, and easy to see how it could interface with actuall discussion of that subject, we certainly would need to be much more rigorous in deciding the wording of any actual voting ballots we might run on this website.
